Latest News Oleg Oleynikov wishes to let people know that Russia is not closing for
International Adoption. Rumours to that effect were only rumours. All
adoptions are proceeding as normal.
There is no long delay between the first and second trip especially for
parents who are only making their first trip now or those who have not
travelled yet. There is a possible delay for parents who are due to make
their second trip now. This will only apply to some parents and it is
because the general registry time have been increased from 3 to 6 months.
If a baby has been on the federal registry for less than 6 months the parents
may have to wait the extra months to bring it to the six. Most babies will
all have been on the registry for 3-4 months and couples adopting these
babies may have to wait the extra 2-3 months. This problem will be short
term while the new arrangements are being implemented.
If anyone has any queries regarding the above please contact us at the
contact details given info@adoptionfromrussia.com .
General
Information
We are currently placing children from a number of areas in the Western regions of Russia, with new areas opening on a regular basis. Families can select a region from which they wish to adopt, but may wait longer for a referral. It is usually best for the facilitator to send your dossier to the region which will have children available in the age range you are requesting as quickly as possible.
All the regions we are working in currently require two trips to complete an adoption. In some regions, brief medical information and/or a photograph are available. In other regions, no initial referral information is available until families arrive on the first trip. We can refer you to families who have adopted from any of these regions if you would like more detailed information than what is provided.
